Sodium Thiosulfate Hypo Pentahydrate CAS No.:10102-17-7 is a colourless, odourless crystal with a cool, bitter taste and a specific gravity of 1.729. It is soluble in water but insoluble in alcohol, is highly reductive, readily weathered in dry air above 33°C and deliquescent in humid air. When used in pools, it removes free and bound chlorine (chloramines) from pools and is commonly used in gold mining, water treatment and in medicine for its various benefits, its medical uses also include the treatment of cyanide poisoning and chaffing.
